OUR OPINION ABOUT THE PROJECT

4 06 2011

We enjoyed talking with people from Oman, but we think that they live in a culture very different from ours.
Boys and girls go to different schools until they go to the university, they can’t leave their parent’s houses until they got married and some marriages are planned by their parents, based on their family money.
In other ways they have a very strong and united family which supports each other.
We also learned that the Portuguese navigators were in Oman.

WHAT WE’VE LEARNT ABOUT OMAN

4 06 2011

This is what we have learnt about Oman, the land of our e-friends.
Surrounded by desert, the Sultanate of Oman is a dry country in South East Asia. A significant portion of this country is covered by desert. The dry climate with very less rainfall has meant scarce vegetation in Oman. To compensate for this natural deficiency, several parks and gardens have been built in Oman. Oman Parks and Gardens offer soothing relief to the eyes of the citizens of this country.
Considered to be the largest park in Muscat, Oman; Qurum Natural Park in Oman is sprawled across an area of 1715449 square meters. The park contains an artificial lake, a lovely fountain, a majestic rose garden and a lot more. The artificial lake is ideal for boating. The park strikes a fine balance between the nature and geographical feature of the area. Walk along the meandering trails through shrubs and floral beds and breathe freely. This park would surely rank high among Parks and Gardens in Oman.
One cannot possibly exclude Al Naseem Public Park from Oman Parks and Gardens. Offering welcome relief to the eyes, Al Naseem Public Park in Oman is considered to be the first park in the Sultanate of Oman. Inaugurated during 15 th National Day in 1985, the construction of this park took 11 months to complete. With an area of 750, 000 square meters; the park contains a medium sized football ground, volleyball court and a lot more. Al Naseem Public Park is in fact so huge that a small train carries visitors to the entire stretch of the park.

Riyam Park in Oman is another noted park among Oman Parks and Gardens. This park overlooks the sea and is designed at multiple levels. The area of 100, 000 square meters is dotted by several playgrounds and green patches. Riyam Park features high on the must see list of tourists among Parks and Gardens at Oman.
